Village Park Nasi Lemak @ PJ Uptown

Advantages of being a Malaysian, you get to eat all kind of foods from the vast multi cultural mixture in the country. One of the all time favourites Malaysian food is of course Nasi Lemak. My wife is a big fan of it, and the question is where is the best nasi lemak in KL? My sister brought over to try out the all famous Village Park. I knew it existed, but never know the exact location or try it before, because its actually quite far from my house for a morning breakkie. Covering it for you here now.


Village Park Nasi Lemak Restaurant is basically located in the Uptown of Petaling Jaya, and it's just along the shoplots behind the row facing the LDP highway. It's easily found because they will have this blue tents put up in front of their twin shoplots. Looking at the crowd, you bet it is good.


While making our way in, can't help to notice all the newspaper cutting stick at the doorstep. Newspaper, and a famous face, our current Prime Minister eat here as well. My sister told me this place got even more famous after his visit. Can't see why, because I don't think our PM is a food critics :P

Goldview Hakka Food Restaurant @ Taman Paramount

Trying hard to push all my overdue food blog out so that it's share with all of you =) sorry.

This time let's go to the Taman Paramount for some really good hakka food. As the name suggest, Goldview Hakka Food Restaurant, serving a true authentic hakka cuisine. It's a little misleading sometimes as this restaurant also serve dimsum in the morning. Hakka food only available in lunch and dinner time only. So don't be surprice to see them selling dimsum if you are there early.

Entrance of the Goldview Hakka Food Restaurant. The chinese name indicated their specialty in hakka food and also spicy soup, which is one of the signature dish in hakka food for this restaurant.


Clean and nice interior with typical chinese practical decor for a good lunch or dining experience. The place is run by a couple and the wife is the lady in purple while husband is the main chef in the kitchen. I'm not sure if they are both hakka, but they are churning out good foods.


The signboard on the wall indicate all the famous hakka dish available in the restaurant and these are only the recommended dishes. There are also a full menu if you have something else in mind. Stick to the list and I'm sure it's very nice.

Breakfast at Kum Heong Restaurant @ PJ New Town

Beautiful Sunday morning and my best friend travelled down from Ipoh to KL so we arranged for a meet-up. Manage to grab our another best friend for a good breakfast in PJ New Town. My friend decided for a meet up with good food din Kum Heong restaurant and the variety of food here is plenty! Let's take a look.


Morning buzz, and if you are late waker, you don't know what you are missing out there. Swarmed by people in the early hour and must be food a good reason.


A good cup of tea, my favourite, however a little disappointed with the quality though. Nothing beat a good tea / coffee in Ipoh, but this will be alright to fill the morning.

Fresh Unique Seafood 23 Restaurant @ PJ

This is long overdue post and it's dated back to Chinese New Year 2011, yea, almost 6 months ago. A good friend of mine came back from his long work in Dubai and our group of friends manage to get hold of him to treat us a good dinner since he got good USD allowance! He is always so good and generous and we picked Fresh Unique Seafood 23 in PJ for the food feast!


The main entrance of the Fresh Unique Seafood 23 Restaurant located in Petaling Jaya. If you want to opt for jockey parking, just stop by the entrance and the jockey will take over. It's only RM5 but if you want to save some money, there is a large underground parking that will cost you RM2 with direct access to the restaurant.

The usual seafood restaurant set-up, a good display of their live seafood available for the day. It's just not decorative in my opinion as you can actually choose which one you fancy to eat that night. Similar arrangement in other seafood restaurant but variety is a little lacking comparing to the other newer opening.

SS2 Durian Station @ Petaling Jaya

The season of Durian or know as King of Fruit is finally back and the street of SS2 is filled with crowd again, all swarming the durian stalls for a taste of the best durian in the town. There are four stalls along the road and we decided to give it a try on this one, named SS2 Durian Station. We didn't go for the remaining three stalls because here seems to have most durian stocks and choice.


Look at the crowd around the stalls! We basically waited for a table for almost 15-20 minutes. Didn't know there is so many people and need to wait so long. We nearly left, but luckily we got our table.


While my family is ordering the Durian, I snapped photos for your entertainment needs. Gorgeous little spiky durian, wondering why it's so tasty. Sinful little spiky piece of fruit.

Fatty Crab Restaurant @ PJ

This time around, I'm back to PJ for food hunting and I'm including the already famous Fatty Crab into the list for my records. It's kind of impossible for anyone living in KL that haven't try the Fatty Crab, because it's famous and its food is really living up to expectations. Their 2nd branch is located near The Mines, too far to write about it anyway. Let's take a closer look.


Fatty Crab located in the Taman Megah in PJ. It's located just right at the corner and it's quite impossible to miss it. Simple white sign board all around and red crab logo. They have two floors, plenty of tables & seats but still the waiting time is a little scary. Prepare to wait if you fancy a taste of their crabs in the weekend.


We are those crazy bunch that crave for a taste of the fatty crabs on the weekend, and this is what waiting us. Look at the people outside the shop! Crazy, yea, we too =) What you need to do is go inform the waitress and they will remember you, then find a place and wait. However, make sure the waitress can see you, or else you might risk them forgetting you. So far they never miss us.

SS20 Fish Head Noodles @ Damansara Kim

This time introducing a good Fish Head Noodles located in Damansara Kim known as SS20 Fish Head Noodles. As it's so near to my working place, we tend to frequent this place for a good lunch. Normally the most important criteria for our lunch is easy parking, good access, fast service, reasonable price and good food. It's not easy to become a good lunch place, but this place meets all the criteria, and it means good place. Let's see.


The SS20 Fish Head Noodles, a small store but great food. The staff even got uniform, very organise. The shop is open from 9am till 9pm daily and they got around 5 workers during peak time. A small store occupied by 6-7 staff during peak hour, you will be happy.

My Elephant Thai Cuisine @ Happy Mansion PJ

It's a surprise to find out that how many good food can fit into a small area like Happy Mansion. I'm yet to post all good food around Happy Mansion up yet because normally I frequented these places on my lunch break or directly after work because I work nearby. Therefore normally I do not have a camera with me. Introducing a new outlet in Happy Mansion, My Elephant Thai Cuisine.



My colleagues brought me over for lunch earlier and after the 1st experience, I tell myself that I must bring my wife over! The food is delicious, and both of us loves thai food as well. So a new addition to the list of good food restaurant.



As you can see, the restaurant spread through three small shoplot in Happy Mansion and the set-up & fascade is neat and elegant. Umbrella holder, waiting seats, menu on the glass wall, carpet for entrance, a well thought concept and I'm very surprise to find such quality restaurant in this place. No doubt it draw the crowd as you can see from the shot above that people are standing waiting while browsing through the menu.

Teochew Braised Duck, Kam Heong Restaurant @ PJ New Town

Lots of people know about the famous braised duck in PJ and as a duck lover myself, this is one of my favourite dinner place. Braised style food is originated from Teochew clan, and again as Teochew myself, it's my favourite style as well. Braised style food is basically done by immersed the entire food (duck) into the sauce and use slow fire to cook it until all the sauce is simmered into the meat for maximum flavoured. The slow cooking process also soften the texture of meat till it can be cut by chopstick.



Coming back to the famous shop in PJ that served the most famous Teochew Style Braised Duck is the Kam Heong restaurant in the center of the Petaling Jaya Old Town. This place only open at night and serves only Teochew style food below.


We arrived the place around 9.00pm and it's almost 70% packed. It's always full most of the time, as it seems everytime I went. Find your seat and the waitress will look for you to order. Basically there is nothing much to order, just a few choice available. If no people is coming to you, just take a walk to the counter and order to the lady there. They won't miss you once you are done.

New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice @ Jalan Gasing

Since I'm from Ipoh, so it's norm for me to be curious of those restaurant that labelled themselves representating Ipoh to open food outlet in KL. Most famous Nga Choy Kei is no surprise to expand but as far as I'm aware, there is no branch in any other place than Ipoh. So whoever claimed they are from Ipoh, must be copying the name only, not anyone from the family of the famous restaurant from Ipoh.

I spotted this place in Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya named New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice since 1977. Ok, that's before I'm even born, maybe I'm not aware then. Let's try out the food if it live up to its name.


This place open from morning till midnight, truly telling you that there is no specific time to enjoy the Ipoh Chicken Rice.

After ordering our food, I picked up my gear and started shooting.


A view of the kitchen just right at the front of the shop, very clean place and well organised. Everytime I come to this place for food, it's always packed. So no different this time, the staff are all very busy all night. Wondering how many chicken they serve a day. I heard Ipoh place served up to thousands bird per day during festive season.

Green View Restaurant @ PJ

It's been almost a week since my last post, getting very busy recently due to work load. However, I've been active with my personal lifestyle, with almost 9 outstanding post, approximately a post for each day. A little crazy, and I'm eating lots of food over the last week. Trying to get it all up here.

First to come is the famous Green View Restaurant located nearby the SS2 roundabout (Rothman's roundabout, I like to call it SS2 roundabout though). Prawn lover will never miss this place, but it's only my 2nd attempt. Unforgettable experience in my first visit, I suggested to my wife for a Friday dinner, just almost a few weeks after my 1st attempt. Green View is so famous that it's all packed with people and taking up 3 shops along the road side, most recognisable landmark from the SS2 roundabout.


The Green View Restaurant that's located nearby SS2 roundabout. It's famous and with this location, the food won't be cheap but it is still packed with people. The owner is definitely multi-millionaire with each table spending over hundreds for a dinner. Read on =)

Restoran Hoppy - Duck Rice @ SS2

We are running around the PJ area and got hungry. We are always hungry. So we opt for duck rice, yeah again. We are really duck lover, so duck rice again. I'm going to make a ranking list for duck soon, after i post up all the shops then we vote ok =P

For this time, we go to the shop that we visit regularly. It's called the Restoran Hoppy at SS2.



I believe lots of people will know this place because the giant duck they hang outside the shop!!


Malaysia weather so hot, really roast duck lo!
