Energizer Night Race 2011

Two weeks ago is the Energizer Night Race 2011 and I participated in the 21km run. It's been a busy month, so haven't got the time to post it up and share with you all. As everyone know by now, the event is seriously mess up and thousands of runners nearly riot in the Sepang International Circuit. I know, because I'm one of the group as well. Let's see how it goes and my result.

Warning, this post is long, click only if you are interested to read. Cheers.

How Green is the iPhone?

Reading through the web and stumble upon this posting, How Green Is the iPhone. It's an interested chart, and sadly I contributed to the whole process. It's too late now, but for all iPhone owners out there, there is one thing we can do, recycle the iPhone rather than throwing it away!

SS2 Durian Station @ Petaling Jaya

The season of Durian or know as King of Fruit is finally back and the street of SS2 is filled with crowd again, all swarming the durian stalls for a taste of the best durian in the town. There are four stalls along the road and we decided to give it a try on this one, named SS2 Durian Station. We didn't go for the remaining three stalls because here seems to have most durian stocks and choice.

Look at the crowd around the stalls! We basically waited for a table for almost 15-20 minutes. Didn't know there is so many people and need to wait so long. We nearly left, but luckily we got our table.

While my family is ordering the Durian, I snapped photos for your entertainment needs. Gorgeous little spiky durian, wondering why it's so tasty. Sinful little spiky piece of fruit.

Nyonya Imperial Restaurant @ Puchong

My best friend came down last month to be torture by the jimui, so I gather up another high school friend for a dinner eat out. He suggested for us to try out the Nyonya Imperial located in Bandar Puteri, Puchong, as we all have already try the Bumbu Bali but would like some local spicy food. A little reluctant because it's a Friday night and as you know the traffic condition in Puchong. Problem is, my friend is staying in the Puchong, so no choice, let's go. Another place to explore anyway.

The main entrance of the Nyonya Imperial Restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong. The restaurant occupies the ground floor and the first floor, but somehow the first floor is not open, probably only open when there are more customers. Anyway, I think that's stupid because it makes the place so dark and those that dont know the place might think it's another run-down restaurant in the process of bankruptcy. The lighting along the corridor is also too dark, please dimmed up the dining place for the ambience enough already! Light up the rest to show people that you are there. As expected, when we got in, only a few tables are occupied.

As we made our order, I snapped away and noticed the decoration within the shop is actually quite nice. The ground floor has minimum tables, like less than 10 for a two shoplots space and an open space staircase lead to the first floor, which is sadly not open. It's a nyonya dining place, I don't understand why they put the chinese traditional marble table & chairs around. Funny, makes me think that this is bought cheap over from the Old Town opposite. But the tables we are seating is alright, comfy sofa with solid chairs for those prefer otherwise.

There are five of us and we decided to feast away! In total, we ordered 5 dishes, basically each of us will need to order something, therefore the results are crazy.

Kong Sai Zai Chicken Rice Restaurant @ Puchong

We are heading into Puchong for errands and suddenly we are craving for protein source, which come best from fish or chicken. For lunch, chicken is always the best choice to fill my always hungry stomach, so my wife recommended us over to pay Kong Sai Zhai Chicken Rice a visit. Something new to me, let's go.

This is the Kong Sai Zhai Chicken Rice located in Puchong. I noticed there is another new shop beside it also painted the same colour, probably they are expanding or moving to the new shop. Look at the chair outside, it's there for the dinner session instead. Once the nightfall arrived, they will set-up tables & chairs all around the outside of the shop, road side dinner experience.

They also have two more branches over the Petaling Jaya, located in Bandar Sunway Mentari and Paramount. The latter being the main branch of the shops. Understand that quality is similar, so no problem.

Steamed Kampung Chicken for two and it looks like it's poached instead of steamed. Funny, but it's nice nonetheless. Kampung chicken texture is a little hard as expected but it's easy to eat. Very little fat and it taste not bad. If you ask me, nothing beat the steamed chicken from Ipoh, and if you compare something nearer, New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice I posted earlier has better chicken than this place. However, the specialty comes from the sauce they served. Let's see.

Beef Noodles @ Lam Ah Coffee Shop, Penang

In my earlier post of Lam Ah Coffee Shop, I mentioned there is another famous Beef Soap Koay Teow in the same coffee shop, crazily hidden gems in the same shop. I'm still into the Penang food crave thing, yes it's crazy how much we ate in our earlier two trips into the Penang Island. Bear with me for another while, only two more post to go then I'm done with Penang.

Here is a glimpse of the shop selling the good Beef Soup Koay Teow in Penang. It's operated by a young lady and as indicated earlier, this place is also famous as name of calling the beef noodles opposite the Fire Station. Look for Lebuh Chulai and Lebuh Pantai, you wouldn't miss it.

A close up shot of the pretty operator of the beef noodles, young and beautiful lady. A good surprise on the good beef noodles is actually served by her. She gives me a good smile when I'm asking her to give me a pose. There you go buddies, the also famous beef noodles lady. You have it first from me.

Half Marathon Training

Yesterday I went to TTDI park and decided to push my body for a final test in preparation for the Energizer Night Race 2011. A 10km non-stop run, something I've never manage to achieve and I nailed it yesterday!

I completed a total of 10.35km yesterday in 1 hour 6 minutes and 20 seconds, averaging my running speed at 6.25min/km. That's slight improvement over my 7km run earlier in averaging 6.52min/km. A little fatigue this morning, but feeling good overall.

KM1 = 6:18min/km
KM2 = 5:59min/km
KM3 = 6:11min/km
KM4 = 6.18min/km
KM5 = 6.16min/km
KM6 = 6.23min/km
KM7 = 6.37min/km
KM8 = 6.45min/km
KM9 = 6.48min/km
KM10 = 6.49min/km

As you can see, I'm going into exhaustive mode in late running around 7KM. But still happy with my training & results. I will see if I can manage to achieve 21km run below 2hours. Wish me luck!

My iphone apps shown that only 1,105calories burnt! So little!? Got to cut back my food already!
