Photography: Potrait Test with AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

Promised a friend of mine that I will get some potrait for her so here it goes. She just graduated from some beauty make-up course which she is currently officially qualified to do make up for wedding and etc. Anyone interested can drop me a text, I will hook you up.


Close-up potrait. A little shaky and blurness over the whole photo. My skill problem, sorry.



Aperture of f/2.5 is too shallow and blur out the lady. This kind of thing is just not detectable in the small viewfinder!


Adjusted and finally some decent lighting and sharpness. However, f/2.5 is still too shallow.


Noise & grain detected over the whole photo because of lighting issue and high ISO setting. Flash gun will resolve this matter easily, I need the SB-600 ...

The sharpness of my photos still not up to satisfaction, which I think it's crucial for potrait. Sorry for that. Let me practise more and give you a free photo shooting session.

Do take note that I'm raking up the ISO to 1600 and using aperture of 2.5 and shutter speed of 1/30~40s without flash to get how I wanted it to be. This is only possible with prime fast lens. Plus, notice the bokeh effect. My 50mm prime lens unleash its power the most when it's on large aperture. More lights, more bokeh, more depth of field, and that's the way I like it. Wondering how it will be if I've got SB-600 on hand =)

My next venture would be wide angle, but it's too pricey for me now. Maybe wait till I got some photographing job to sponsor my hobby =P
