The Connoisseur Concerto @ Orchard Road, Singapore

This round, I will be covering a restaurant in the shopping mall along the Orchard Road in Singapore, giving some ideas on what price tag and quality to expect if you happen to be strolling there for a holiday. As we wandering around, we decided to find something that can't find in Malaysia, and this is not our choice initially, but we settled with it as we are tired, and it's time to feed our baby.

Choice we made, The Connoisseur Concerto, or simply called TCC as per photo above. They call themselves Art Boutique Cafe, and they specialise in coffee apparently. But somehow, the setup within the restaurant shows that it's more like a dining place than a coffee place, but it looks interesting enough for us to step in.

Lucky enough that with baby on tow, our dinner timing normally is earlier, and for that, we manage to escape the large crowd that swarmed the place with super long queue. Another usual sight for restaurant in Orchard at weekend dining hours.

Now let's see what they got to attract such a crowd.

First to come, we ordered the Ribeye Steak, it's served with espresso barbeque sauce with some greens and breaded potato cheddar cakes. If you are following my blog earlier of Barossa, this is suppose to be crap place that I'm going to complain. True enough, food carrying the same price tag of S$32.00. The steak is dry, overcooked, and the espressor barbeque sauce sucks. The sides are ok though, but I wouldnt recommend this to anyone. Save your money, probably they should stick to their coffee bussiness afterall.

As you would have expect, we normally coupled up a plate of pasta after the meat in most western restaurant, so we got the Spaghetti Bolognese. Ok my photo skill sucks, I'm just lazy to set the exposure and colour, and crap shot is what I get. I promise not to do this again, sorry. Again another disappointment, the sauce is too sour and sweet, don't feel any cheese or tomato taste in it, but credit to the spaghetti, very smooth and properly cooked. Again, wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The price is in the range of S$20.00.

Real highlight instead is the drink, maybe they are really a coffee shop afterall. Iced Cookies and Cream Latte, and it's good. I'm not really a coffee person, but I love this. Maybe if you are coffee critics, this might feel normal. It's not cheap though, what you expect from Orchard Road?

I tried another few restaurant along the Orchard Road, and at this price range, nothing is good. The only real deal is the franchise that charge the same throughout entire island, so stick to them instead. At least you get to eat the same food at the same price at a more prestige address. Save your money for some other area that serves better food. Won't be back for sure, not even for a cup of coffee. It still sucks compare to the real coffee brewer.
