This round I'm going to promote one of my all-time favourite, Lan Je Restaurant, that specialise in Steam Tilapia Fish. I'm always a fish lover, and I wouldn't miss this when my friend told me about it few years ago. Last time Lan Je only got a shop, and thanks to their quick expansion, you can know eat their steam fish in a few places close to your home.
Lan Je Restaurant, this is one of their branch in Kota Damansara. It's a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the area, but good thing is there are plenty of parking as all the shops around it seems to be closed / abandoned. The place is very airy, comfortable and definitely a nice place for a good steam tilapia fish meal with family.
This place is also pork free, probably suitable for our muslim friends, but there is no Halal certificate or whatsoever, so it's up to you to decide really. I have a whole family with me this time, and we ordered lots of stuff! Let's see.
My all-time favourite, fried eggs with prawn priced at RM10.00. I'm particularly eggs lover, I really love this friend eggs. My family told me that it's normal only, but somehow I really love it. Probably I love all the fried eggs that's deep fried rather than usual fried with little oil. It's sinful way of eating, I know, but what's healthy and nice? Strike the balance, the rest got to work out harder in exercise =)
Next up is the sweet and sour fried chicken priced at RM8.00. This dish is normally serves with pork, but since no pork is allowed, so chicken is just fine. The chicken is crispy in texture, and the sauce is all good. No complain, all good.
And of course some greens to go with the meal, and this fried kang kung is priced at RM9.00. It's weird how vegetables are more expensive than the chicken dish earlier, and it's not particularly big serving as well, but I'm not complaining.
Then next up, is the highlight of the day. Steamed Tilapia Fish in Lan Je Restaurant. Everyone that come to this shop is to eat this fish only. Forget about what I introduce earlier, just pay attention to this.
One thing I forgotten to mention is that in this shop, each and every person order their own Steamed Tilapia Fish. Yes, I meant 1 fish for 1 person. So there is 6 of us, and we ordered 6 Steamed Tilapia Fish! It's magnificient sight for those not familiar with this shop.
Thre is only 1 flavour with the Steamed Tilapia Fish in Lan Je Restaurant, which is this, I don't know what you call this. But you can choose how spicy you want it to be. 3 options, without chilies, normal or super spicy. Pick what you fancy and enjoy the fish.
As a fish lover myself, I would not say this Tilapia Fish is awesome and one of the best. But the specialty in each person getting a fish by ownself is special enough. The fish is all fresh, no mud smell and it's cooked to perfection. All the fish served are the same, and it's good with the sauce comes with it. Everyone on my table walloped finished each fish ordered, and you don't need to ask if it's good, else there will be leftover.
This is what happened at the end of the battle, nothing left, and some even the head & tail went missing.
The whole meal for 6 of us amounted to RM125.00, not really pricy for 6 Tilapia Fish and some dishes! All of us ended up with big tummy and a smiling face when walking out of the shop. I would recommend this place to anyone that love fish, and even for those that doesn't fancy fish, it will be a good place for a dinner. It's one of my favourite fish restaurant, and I go there everytime when I fancy some fish.
Here is how it looks like inside the shop. Not exactly baby/children friendly, but it's spacious and not hot. They also have limited baby chair, so bring your own if you can. They have branches in Rawang, Kota Damansara, and Balakong. I heard recently they also open up in subang USJ.
