Promised a friend of mine that I will get some potrait for her so here it goes. She just graduated from some beauty make-up course which she is currently officially qualified to do make up for wedding and etc. Anyone interested can drop me a text, I will hook you up.
Close-up potrait. A little shaky and blurness over the whole photo. My skill problem, sorry.

The New Windows
Microsoft has launched its new operating system, the Windows 7 on 22nd October 2009. It's been reviewed and claimed to be one of the most stable OS ever created. I played with it when I'm walking the shopping mall yesterday, and indeed it give me a very good impression. The earlier gimmick on the features of vista is gone and simplicity with updated look is featured. I'm going to give it a try in my desktop when I got back.
For the meantime, Microsoft also launched the Microsoft Surface earlier this year. It's all possible with human minds. A preview of the Windows Surface features for your viewing pleasure below. Nice, wondering when it will come to Malaysia.

Hoya UV Filter
I've finally got the Hoya UV filter for my AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8D lens. Lens filter are very important, which I made a mistake in delaying the purchase for almost a month. Luckily I haven't done anything funny to make me regret it badly. Wondering what I'm thinking earlier.
For all dSLR out there, please buy the filter for all your lens when you buy it. Minimum shall be UV filter that you can leave it on without removing it to ensure 100% protection. The advantages are 3 folds, improve clarity, improve colour balance and extremely important protection to the front optic of your lens. Other filters do have special effects on the photos, like polarising or colour filter, but minimum general UV filter is compulsary.
I have not study all the brand and the differences but recommendation from my sifus out there is Hoya brand. I've got the Hoya UV filter for both my lens now. It's very cheap and crystal clear filter, so no reason for you to skip it when you are getting a few hundreds / thousands ringgit lens.
This is what I get for my lens. The Hoya General UV Filter 52mm. The filter is crystal clear but not comparable to Hoya Pro1D type, which cost almost double. I noticed my photos do look better with the lens on, but importantly it doest what it's designed for, protection! I should try out the Pro1D next time =)
This is how it looks like when coupled to my AF Nikkor 50mm 1.8D lens. Like the word "Made in Japan", feels high class and the classic bold wording definitely add class to my already classic lens.
A clearer look on the filter quality. It is actually colourless but probably due to reflection. This is the 1st layer of protection to whatever you got behind the filter. Cheap protection for expensive lens. Nice.

Bangkok Village Thai Cuisine @ JB
It's a on-duty weekend again and we are not able to go back KL. It's a sad and lonely Friday night, so all of us are crying for a break-out from our invisible chain to do something special. My colleague, Simon, remembered a recommendation from the subcontractor about a Thai food somewhere in Johor Jaya, which is quite nice.
Excited, so off we go to search for this place. It's called Bangkok Village.
A visible sign board beside the road for the restaurant. The restaurant is kinda dark but if you take notice, it's not hard to find.

The Manhattan Fish Market
I'm in Jusco Tebrau last week with my colleagues and as usual, we ended up brain-storming of what to eat for our dinner. We walk around the ground floor and came to the Manhattan Fish Market, so I asked them if interested. They have never tried it before, so set! Time for some torch burning seafood craze ...
The Manhattan Fish Market is basically everywhere. As long as there is a shopping mall with good flow of human traffic, then there is a very big chance it will be there also. I first tried it last 3 years ago in Sunway Pyramid and love it since then.
The franchise setting of the entrance for The Manhattan Fish Market. It's the same everywhere, same goes to the food quality, so don't worry.

Tung Lok Hin Restaurant - Bak Kut Teh @ Ipoh
This is one of the long overdue post, but definitely something not to miss for all my readers. Food, and back to Ipoh again. Ipoh is really packed with nice food everywhere.
We are looking for some meaty breakfast, so opted for Bak Kut Teh, but the original shop we frequented , Soon Lee Bak Kut Teh, was closed for the day. We ended up in this restaurant just a street away. It looks good, packed and the aroma of the meat is pulling us in to grab a table.
Tung Lok Hin Restaurant that sell only Bak Kut Teh in the morning. Can you see the people standing around the shop waiting for seats? Don't let the shop bad appearance drive you away.

Photography: James & Ely Wedding
I've been very busy on the last weekend with 2 wedding assignments. One of it is my best friend, James' Wedding. I took over thousand photos for both weddings and it's taking me forever to sort it out.
James is my college mate since 2001 and since then we have been friends till university and even work colleagues. He is one of my best friend around and my apology to him for not able to make it to be his "heng dei" to help him get his wife from the evil "ji mui". Hope I can make it up with my photos in your wedding dinner. It's one of the grandest hall I've seen with impressive arrangement. I enjoyed it very much.
Congratulations and Wish James & Ely Together Forever. Hope you guys love the photos. Cheers.
Grand Hall in Loong Seng Restaurant in Nilai that seat 500 guest!

Nikkor Acronyms
Nikkor is a lens brand that's manufactured by Nikon Corporation. The technology is so wide that they come out with so many acronyms for their lens, which proves to be confusing for all beginners, that means me too. So for my future reference and your knowledge, I list it all down here. I'm dSLR user, so old lens for manual SLR won't be cover here.

Additional Features
Yeah! Just realised blogger has included some new features and I'm trying it out.
New layout with "read more" options for each post. I've been looking up and down for this to avoid loading up your bandwidth when looking at my site, so finally got it up and working. I've included 10 posts on my main page with "read more" function to make it more compact and less weight on bandwidth. Choose & read, your time, your choice.
I've also included my gear & wish list section on the column for your reference. People are asking me what I'm using for photographing, so here you go on the list. The wish list show my plan on future purchase. Keep looking. Cheers!
